Many thanks to Trish and Jill from Lancashire County Council who attended our meeting on Monday! They are Enablement Support Workers and primarily deal with people with disabilities. They came to get advice and guidance from the group on how best to work with people dealing with clutter.
Trish was kind enough to give us a bit of feedback:
” We had a great time meeting you all and it was a real insight for us both, we really did learn a lot. Would you please thank your lovely group for allowing us to take part and be present at their very special time, everyone was so very welcoming and friendly towards us.”
Please see the following information from Trish and Jill’s team, that may be of use to you if you live in the Lancashire area and beyond!
Adult Disability Enablement Service
Lancashire County Council Enablement Services is part of the Adult Disability Service. We have a County Team for the Enablement Services that operates throughout Lancashire, The service operates from County Hall in Preston and some staff have work bases within County Day Service buildings across Lancashire.
Support is delivered by a team of staff, including an Enablement Manager, Quality Improvement Manager Team Coordinators and Enablement Support Workers and a Business Support Officer. The level of support is according to a person’s assessed needs and considers areas such as
- Supporting people to develop new skills and live more independently, therefore decreasing their need for services
- To prioritise cases that will provide the individual with the largest increase in independence.
- To provide this service to all adults in receipt of social care to learn new skills and live more independent lives
