Merseyside Safeguarding Adults Board Conference – Peer group reading (25/06/2019)

Malcolm and Cathy accompanied Ian Porter from Merseyside Safeguarding Adults Board and gave a moving reading to professionals that work in social care and housing. The event was held at the Bluecoat arts centre in Liverpool. The transcript was produced by Ian and the peer group over multiple sessions.

The script was designed to highlight the fact that hoarding isn’t just a label, that the individuals behind it have very real and personal stories that are ironically neglected by professionals.  We’ve posted the script on our blog page and would encourage everyone, especially professionals, to read it.

A massive thanks to Ian Porter from Merseyside Safeguarding Adults Board for organising the event and help plan and edit the script. Congratulations to Kathy and Malcolm for presenting it so successfully and last but not least to Vicki for attending too! Ian has promised to return to see the group on a regular basis, to provide further support for the peers as and where he can.
